Gordon's Window Decor - EcoSmart Insulating Shades:

Letters of Recommendation from Keith J. Kirtley, Residential/Services Manager, University of Albany,  Office of Facilites and Physical Plant.  SUNY at Albany installed 410 EcoSmart Insulating Shades in one of their 23 story dorms during the summer of 1997. (Please excuse the fuzzy image - a clear copy of the body text follows.)   Additional work was done in the summer of 1998.  A second letter follows the first.
 
 
 
"Dear Gordon:

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Gordon's Window Decor and the EcoSmart Insulating shades you installed in our Dutch Tower Dormitory last summer.  Your product and service have been excellent to date.  The  shades have certainly improved our operation.  Based on our experiences so far I feel this product will play an important role in effective building management in the future and that other Facilities Managers might benefit from considering the use of these shades for a wide variety of campus installations.

As I mentioned yesterday, in my 21 years experience working in and managing University facilities, I can't remember a product that solved so many problems, and with which I have been completly satisfied.   In trying to find the perfect solution, we had tried drapes, shades and blinds of every type. After some testing and analysis, we felt that the insulation EcoSmart Insulating cellular shades could reduce time and money spent on repairs, replacements and dealing with cold complaints.

We installed 410 shades (16,000-sq. ft.) in one of our 23 story dorms.  They virtually eliminated all of these problems, as well as dust, smell, and allergy-related complaints.  The students certainly appreciate the comfort these shades provide.  They are also incredibly durable.  I was very surprised to find that only 6 shades required repair when we did our 100% six-month inspection, and all of these were covered under warranty.

I must admit that your shades seemed expensive at first, but then so were our problems.  I am happy to say that we have concluded they were an excellent value and we will use them again in other buildings this summer.
